Clark Esplin

Clark is the son of Tom Esplin and was born in St Andrews, Scotland in 1941. In 1954 the Esplin family came to New Zealand. Clark was educated at John McGlashan College, Dunedin Teacher's College and the University of Otago.

He has been a professional artist since 1970, and has painted full-time since 1995. He has travelled to 26 countries, using his sketchbooks to record people and places that appeal to him - a visual diary of his travels. His original works produced directly from his travels reflect his enthusiasm for Europe, his love of the sea, and his fascination for different peoples and cultures.

Clark's work has been seen in solo exhibitions and in group shows throughout New Zealand. He is a respected artist whose work is now being sought by collectors.

Clark is also listed in the Canterbury Regional Arts Guide published by Arts Canterbury Inc. http://www.artscanterbury.org.nz
